AuditBoard cut telemetry ingest by 92.5% and gained deeper observability

AuditBoard, an AI-powered connected risk platform transforming audit, risk, and compliance, found itself with a good problem that was causing a bad outcome: expanding markets and an increasing customer base that led to costly and unexpected overage bills from its application performance monitoring (APM) provider, Datadog. To make matters worse: the team felt stuck attempting to resolve the problem and lacked support from their existing provider.

The Mezmo platform allowed the AuditBoard team to better manage the type of data they produced while detecting data surges. This was accomplished by implementing pre-processing checks and throttling mechanisms prior to sending data to platforms that may cause overage bills. Centralizing the data collection and processing through the pipeline helped get better control of the data and reduced the mental toil of data users who depend on the right data to debug and troubleshoot problems.

From logs to metrics: The flexibility of the Mezmo platform has empowered AuditBoard to look ahead. While not yet fully implemented, the team expressed significant interest in leveraging Mezmo's ability to derive metrics from logs. This would allow them to send tailored, high-cardinality metrics to other systems like Amplitude, unlocking new potential for product and performance analysis. This future-readiness gives AuditBoard confidence that their observability platform will grow with them.
