July Newsletter: Series C, New CEO, and Web Server Template

MIN READ

LogDNA is now Mezmo but the product you know and love is here to stay.

2020 has been a busy year, and with so much to share we felt that this was the perfect time to launch LogDNA’s first-ever newsletter. We recently announced a $25M Series C and the evolution of our executive team to include Tucker Callaway as CEO. My co-founder, the Board of Directors, and I are all super excited to have Tucker take the torch as CEO while I focus my energy on business development and partnerships as Chief Strategy Officer.

At this time of year, we’re normally kicking off event season and making plans to connect with our users face-to-face around the globe. In the absence of that experience, we wanted to create another channel to touch base with you, say hello, and share what we’ve been working on at LogDNA.

Welcome to the newsletter; we’re glad you’re here!

- Chris Nguyen

New and Noteworthy

A New Chapter

Check out this post from Chris Nguyen and Tucker Callaway where they discuss this new chapter at LogDNA. As Tucker puts in the post, “although this marks the beginning of a new chapter for LogDNA, it’s not a new book. The characters and the plot are the same, with a renewed focus on our individual passions and strengths.”

LogDNA Agent Updates

We are announcing a few exciting updates for the LogDNA Agent! Starting in mid-October, we will be splitting the LogDNA Agent into four different versions based on their platform or operating system (OS): LogDNA Linux Agent, LogDNA Windows Agent, LogDNA Mac Agent, and LogDNA Kubernetes Agent. This new change makes updates easier to deliver to our customers and enables us to build platform- or OS-specific features. We are also moving towards sending WinEvents with our NXLog integration and deprecating Debian 8 and Ubuntu 14.04.

The Logging Community

For our first newsletter, we decided to reach back to the beginning of the year for some of these posts since many people have been producing amazing content and projects while the world battles COVID-19.

The Latest from LogDNA Engineering on Logging

We kicked off our deep dive series with an exploration of logging performance for serverless applications. The code itself is all Python, so you may find the discussion interesting if you’re working in Python overall.
